Max Marlett was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Gonzaga University in 2015. Max works primarily in oil on canvas and oil on panel. This year, Max has a painting accepted in the Center on Contemporary Art's Member show in 2020. In 2019, he received the Kent Summer Art Exhibit Purchase Award from the city of Kent, Washington. Max also has two paintings on permanent display at the Paragon Restaurant in Seattle. Recently, Max has been inspired by works in cultural anthropology, gonzo journalism, and horror movies from the 1980s. Above all, Max believes that it is important for the artist to create their own world in order to have a dialogue with modern culture. He currently lives in Seattle, Washington and shows his artwork throughout the Pacific Northwest.
